End of Season Results

To everyone - Congrats on a great season! The final AL Central playoff game did have an effect on the standings as it allowed the Chilis to move up into 3rd place. This left the Pretzels and Presleys in a 4th place tie. Those three teams had been in a virtual deadlock for days.

Anyway, we have had a number of ties over the last several seasons. So, I went back to the Roto Baseball 2007 book's first level method of tie breaking (comparing Pretzels and Presleys head to head across all 10 categories). Presleys was ahead in 6 of the 10 categories, so Presleys holds onto 4th place with Pretzels slipping to the lovely 5th slot.

To make things more interesting, the Vagrants failed to achieve the minimum total innings pitched for the entire season. Our rules require a team to achieve 1,000 innings pitched over the course of the season in order to receive standings points for ERA and WHIP. Vagrants only managed 714.3 innings pitched. So, Vagrants have dropped 22 points in the standings from 7th place to 11th place after getting no points for those categories.

Overall Standings

I have gone back and adjusted the standings posts to reflect the standings as noted on the website for that particular week. In this post (dated in October to keep it at the top), overall standings will be updated on a [relatively] regular basis, shortly after the commissioner posts the weekly transactions. Normal procedures will involve the posting of the transactions, then the weekly standings and then the updating of the overall standings post.
